I just came across This site.I am not sure how genuine they are, maybe some of you have heard about them.

Some interesting bits from the site.
This is where we come into the picture. We know that there are many talented players who do not have the sufficient funds to play at the level they should or wish to. Our goal is to work together to help talented and/or promising players realise their poker dreams.

Based upon the applications received, we will choose the players who will represent us. You do not need to be a known player or have a successful past, but you do have to show us that you are a winning player. We also think it is important that the player is confident and believes in him or herself.

You couldn't put a gun to my head to make me play on Pacific poker.

"PokerShowOff.com receives access to statistics and other information about our players through cooperation with Pacific Poker, and thus the evaluation take place at Pacific‘s‘ tables.

If you are already an existing member of Pacific poker the procedure will be a slightly different, please email a blank mail to: existingmember@pokershowoff.com . There might occur problem with existing members, which can result in a delay before playing, but all players will get their opportunity to show off.

At step 2 you will have to play a minimum of three tournaments, exactly how many and at what level (freerolls not included), is an individual choice. As soon you have played your tournaments, send an email to tournament@pokershowoff.com and attach a screenshot from one of the tournaments. The entire client has to be visible and it has to include your username and the position which you finished at. The screenshot has to be in ‘.jpeg‘ format. Any other formats will not be accepted.

To get started simply download the software from us here, and create a new account.

Before starting you will also have to register your Pacific Poker username. Use the email and password you entered when signing up at our site to confirm. Register here.

    Good luck!"

Basically they get a % of peoples rakes and aftera few months they will bankroll the better/bigger rakepayers with that rake - they are now also going to be getting 30% of your winnings

Anyone who accepts a sponsorship deal that means they have to give up 30% of their winning needs their head examined.

Its actually a good business idea from there point of view....people at the start of the "process" are basically bankrolling the better players, and then they take 30%.Handy work if you can get it,they must be making a a few bob.

This new badbeat team that tikay wrote about in this months cardplayer is the same thing, they get the better players rolling after 3 months with a 50k bankroll of which they put up 70% they then get 30% of your winnings and as I see it players like action jackson involved in setting it up will get the majority of sponsorship anyway

70% input and taking 30% seems harsh. There are plusses and minus to this kind of thing but since you also wont get rakeback I wouldnt do that deal. However if they were willing to freeroll me then I would because there are longer term considerations involved.

I met the bad beat team in MCM and they seemed like nice guys but they were all share traders from the city of London apart from Action Jackson and a few other named players. They were quite frank with me that this was a quants exercise for them, like spread betting an entire industry because the maths is in their favour ultimately. They had somthing like half a million to slosh about just for the trial with 50 Million on offer if the trial paid dividends.

    DeV.

PokerShowOff is now launched and it is completely free to participate.

    These are the sponsorship details:

    Cash Game:
When a player becomes sponsored we will give him or her money to play at the desired and suitable level. The money the player receives from us will always be ours. However, we do not have any demands that the player has to pay back lost money. A cash game sponsorship will initially run over one month as a trial period. If the player has lost all the money after that period the sponsorship will end. However, if the player has made a profit every dollar more than the “stake” is winnings for the player and if the player wishes to cash out we will take the “stake” back. Note that we will only demand the money that we invested back, so there is a 100% profit payout to the player for the first month’s contract.

    Tournament:
When a player becomes sponsored for a tournament we will pay the full entry fee according to the sponsorship agreement. However due to the nature of tournament poker we will at tournament poker sponsorship take a cut of the profit according to the table below. However, we do not have any demands that the player has to pay back lost money.

0% cut on winnings $0 – Break even
30% cut on winnings Break even - $1000
    40% cut on winnings $1001 -
