Right lads, who does it? Who rates it? Is there any point? Is there any reason not to do it? How does squatting a weight you can overhead press encourage hypertrophy of the legs? I just want to find out if this is a worthwhile training regime so all answers are welcome :)

    Yes, Crossfit is the daddy.

Its not about hypertrophy at all. Its about become your natural optimum shape and size. It is about maximizing performance above all else.

Chuck Liddel is affiliated with it, BJ Penn is volcal about endorsing it, Randy Couture apparently does it.

I find that the equipment needed to do the progams completely has increased over the years. So its quite hard ot do the rowing, the rings, parrellel bar exercises etc.

However the philosophy behind crossfit is absolutely sound. While is doesnt sit well with most sports scientists and fitness trainers when you look at the reasoning behind both approaches, for me at least, crossfit makes much more sense.

THe first crossfit journal is free on the website. Subsiquent ones are available to download at various "trackers"

    Peace

Cheer Pearse, the "muscle ups" look like a killer exercise done on rings! Looks like it'd be a good routine for normalising any imbalance of strength between different muscle groups as well. I think I'll try add a couple days of this to my training and see how it goes :) Too bad I don't have a Concept II rowing machine knocking around ;)

Muscle ups are an absolute biatch! The transition from the pull stage to the pull stage is what will kill you!
