OCR Software...

    Hi,

    I am looking for some good software that will scan/convert documents from a scanner into word/excel documents. I think it OCR software. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should be get and where?

    If you have microsoft office XP?/2002?/2003 or one of its components there is a half decent OCR built in "microsoft document imaging" if you add/remove and select it. older versions do not have it

    If not then SimpleOcr is fairly basic but free.

    most OCR is for text so getting nice Excel tables will be messy - you'd probably have to output the text and import it back in excel as CSV etc.
