'happy birthday.' It's a timeless classic. And it means you get to eat cake.

Was that written in the last 10 years?
    I think not.

OP didn't specify that it had to be written within the last ten years. Only what your favourite song of the last ten years is. Despite all the new works in the past ten years, 'happy birthday' still tops my chart. so there. now let me eat cake.

    I love so many, but...

My favourite song of all time, because of the way it makes me feel, is The Show Must Go On by Queen.

    From the last ten years?

Hmmm. Actually tougher! Maybe... The Masterplan, by Oasis?
    It's a difficult question...

of the last 10 years is probably "Animal" by REM.

Favourite song threads are crap :D I find it pretty tough to pick a favourite song of a year, favourite song ever isn't a viable choice.

Hmmm... difficult one, has to be 'Wait and Bleed' by Slipknot. Such a beautiful and melodic song, it speaks hauntingly to my soul and reminds me of the fragile and often misunderstood human condition.

    Hmmm, very tough question.

    Stairway to Heaven, maybe.

(Not the Ralph Harris version though :D ).

Really hard to choose this because it changes all the time. But if I had to choose now off the top of my head I would have three

Maria McKee - if love is a red dress (recorded live & included on the pulp fiction soundtrack, spine tingleing voice, while not the prettiest pebble in the pond)
U2 - Where the streets have no name
    Jonny Cash - Hurt
