Hello my company bought a xerox docuprint 12 printer 2nd hand.It came with a server and we got out a engineer yesterday from xerox to set it up and he told us that the server was faulty. We got a call today stating that it would cost €6500 to put right.
This is not within out budget and im wondering would someone have one for sale.We only need it to print out a few posters per week.
Even if someone could reply back that might know someone who might fix this I would be grateful.

They're most likely trying to charge you an annual maintenance fee rather than just a once off repair... I'd reccomend locating the drivers and connecting it directly to a pc if possible and see if that works.

no.its not a usb or parallel connection.the connections run through this server.im aware of a maintence fee but i thought this charge to fix it was crazy. The printer is not worth the colour of the price to repair it

I used to work for the xerox technical support helpdesk in Ballycoolin, these machines run only on a "Fiery" server and if that's broken, it's very expensive indeed. Even though the printer and print engine itself is probably fine, I'm afraid there's not much use for this printer anymore without the Fiery. The fiery has it's own OS specifically made to control the printer, so it wouldn't run on a normal "windows 200x server".

As you said there's no USB or Parallel port on the printer, but there is a Network port, you might try to connect the printer using a cross-over network cable to the pc, or directly with a normal network cable to your network.... you need to change the IP-settings obviously, I can't really remember whether you could do this from the front panel menu on this machine, but you might just be lucky.
