    Hello folks!

I was up in the Wicklow Hills on Monday at about 6pm on the Sally Gap road going back down towards Tallaght.

A skinny bedragled dog was mooching along the road. It hadnt eaten in a long time and it took me an hour to coax it into the car.

Anyway its about 2 years old and is a Spaniel but bigger than a Springer. It is currently being minded in the reconciliation centre in Glencree and we need to find a home for it.

It is trained and doesnt go the toilet inside at night either. A very friendly dog with lots of energy and would need lots of space and kids that arent too young either.

I'll be going up to Glencree on Friday or Saturday to speak to the dog trainers on the hills to see if they lost him (or her, i haven't checked yet).

I'm not sure if its a pedigree as I havent come across a spaniel this big before. It looks like it might be crossed with horse or a feral goat.

If you are interested in taking him (or her) just pm me here and leave a number. space and energy required.

    cheers Des

and before you ask why i was in the mountains at night I was clearing my head and having a cigar!
i was also practicing my martial arts on little bunny rabbits in preparation for the coming apocalypse when only the survivalists shall .....er..... survive.

cheers man, I had a springer for 10 years when i was a kid but I can't keep him, unless i move flat and play poker full time.

    which is an idea.

anyone got a house or flat for rent?

I understand if u have to move this post but leave it here till this time tomorrow so the usual suspects can see it.

i'd love to keep him but it wouldnt be fair, what with my crapola job.

surely the dog would have more chance of finding a home if you posted this in the Animals forum?

I'm not entirely sure that when one finds their animal spirit guide during a drug (what was in the cigar?) induced journey of the soul in the wilderness that it's the done thing to try to stick it in a car and give it away as a pet!

it does seem like an obvious prize for "worst bluff of the night" in next Thursday's freeroll at the Fitz

    Hello folks!

I was up in the Wicklow Hills on Monday at about 6pm on the Sally Gap road going back down towards Tallaght.

People do abandon dogs on that road quite a lot, so I doubt it had run away from a dog breeder. Also they tend to be smart enough to run back.

You should definitely keep the dog.

tx guys, yes all the weird cigar and coaxing things are true.

no i wasnt drunk when i posted but i am now.

i only posted here coz i posted in a half dozen other Irish sites and i like about 2 dozen people here and would like them to see this, if they want a dog.

i have the misfortune of having to live with my conscience despite the fact that i can rarely afford it. I want to get rid of this canine but he has to find a top home, otherwise i will change flat and job and do it myself, begrudgingly.

so if u know anyone who needs a top quality dog that needs a lot of attention and exercise u know who to call.

i wont take up any more of ur time, tx for not deleting it and i shall be back tomorrow night to pontificate on various heebeejeebees.

god bless u, u dirty mongrels

(god being the source and goal of a state of non-delusion)
(and mongrels being the cleverest breed of dog, i.e. u)

that marlin story was great, the young fella sounds like he was on a second last table with player x!

Is 'energetic' code word for 'completely bats' doc? I've wanted a dog for ages but convincing everyone in my house will be difficult. We've had spaniels before and although they're great dogs they're alot of work, especially when they're young. Also they get very lonely very easily and generally need the company of another dog which would be pushing it. Have you any idea how old the mutt is?

Use the 'Puppy Dog' approach to marketing principle.

Bring the Ballygowan cooler home for a week on a 'free trial' ... if you don't like it, you can bring it back !

When those floppy ears and slipper hunting and mail delivering skills have been showed, I think the mutt will win over your family.
