Help me with a tricky situation

I'm on the board of a management company for a block of apartments

The planning laws don't allow satellite dishes to be erected to the front of buildings but the front of the building face south so no LOS to satellites from the rear of the block
    and
The leasehold forbids erection of a satellite dish anywhere which I might be able to fudge until I can maybe set it aside at the next AGM.
There is some resistance to dishes amongst the members of the estate.

A new young Sudanese family have moved in and want to recieve native language programing via satellite.
    I'd like to help them.

I found this link for Sudan TV.
    http://www.lyngsat-address.com/ss/Sudan-TV.html
What size dish do you think I'd need for this satellite.

I saw that there are strip satellite dishes which are like a fat rod that can be put on the outside of a window. Do these work or do they just lighten one's purse and even if they do work are they strong enough to pull a signal from this satellite.

on side of lift shaft roof? On apartment roof.

You can fit a special "toriodial" single dish to do 10 to 15 satellites and a distribution system to feed everyone. (inc All BBC and ITV, Polish, German, etc )

There are many channels that don't need a subscription either.

toroidal dish (its wider than usual ) get a GOOD installer and make sure you have space inside lift shaft or roof for lots of cabling joins and distribution boxes for all those cable runs to apartments.

    Thanks for the replies.

The apartment block is only two story and free standing so no complications of lifts or roof access.

Non penetrating roof mount may be the way to go, I recently used one of these to get around a planning issue as if its not fixed it can be regarded as a temporary structure.
