Firefox 1.5 proxy problem

Hi, Im a student in trinity and am trying to access some local stuff. On my other computer I just selsct auto configure proxy and enter "http://www.tcd.ie/proxy.cgi" and then press refresh, which brings up a window for my id and password. Hi,

On this computer tho, which is running a newer firefox 1.5, it seems to ignore any changes I make to connection settings, it's connecting as usual after I do the above, no pass request and no access to the local tcd pages...
anyone any idea what the matter is????
