NEC N343i Issues

I've just bought this funky new NEC phone from O2. I used to be on Vodafone, but they were too expensive, so I've gone to O2 speakeasy. I like the phone. It doesn't do a lot, but it's very slim and light and does enough really.

But since I've got it, the signal reception is total rubbish! I thought maybe it could be because where I am has a rubbish O2 signal. But no, my wife came home with a new O2 Samsung S500i phone. She used to be Vodafone too. Now she has a full signal in the house and I have one bar or no bars.

    Is it the phone?

I had one myself for a while. My personal experience is that the reception is poor and the battery life is less then a day.

In my opinion, based on my experience with it, it's the phone.

yeah I put the SIM in to the wifes phone and I get a full signal. I put it in an unlocked nokia 8310 I have and I've a full signal.

I brought back the first phone that I bought to the shop on Wednesday and got a replacement. Exact same signal issues. O2 say that they have had issues with some of these phones.

So I'm off to the shop this evening for another replacement. I'd like to chance another NEC since the alternatives at the same price are basic nokia's which I don't want.

If it's the phone, I'd stay away. If it's just a couple of faulty phones, the next one could be fine.

    Hard to know.

Go for the K300i if you're looking for something along the same price point ... much better phone in my opinion.

Honestly dude my professional opinion would be get the k700i for a extra €30 , you get a radio , mp3 player , camera , and a video player all on the phone. One of the best phones available on the pay as you go range. Do not take another nec343i.
