    Hi all,
Does anyone know of a media player for Linux that doesn't involve me compiling from the source code ?
I'm not very linux savy and need to do work related stuff using audio samples ?
    Thanks

xmms is probably what you're looking for. Compiling from source is really very straightforward though. Definitely nothing to fear. :)

    ./configure <enter>
    make install <enter>
    it's done. :)

Redhat does come with a crippled version of xmms (i.e. mp3 disabled) but you can download a "proper" version pretty handy.

Alternatively try using synaptic to install your software. It's the bees knees.

    Alternatively, try VLC.
