The USB adapters should work in both PC and laptop, however sharing a broadband connection in this manner would not be advised. You will have no security on this connection, plus the computer connected to the ADSL modem will need to be on for the other to connect to the net.

You should think about getting a wireless 802.11g router, connect this to the ADSL modem and connect both computers by wireless to the router. This is the most secure option, when you enable WEP or other encryption methods. Look in the Broadband forum for threads on setting up a wireless router with your broadband, there's lots in there.

get yourself one of these: http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=302439&cks=PLC and connect directly to your broadband modem and then get one of these:http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=301534&cks=PLS for your laptop.
And you're away in a hack........................
But if you only have usb on laptop , then get one of these:http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=305053&cks=PLC
