It's my niece's christening on Sunday. I'm going to be her godfather so I want to set up a trust fund for her.

Basically every birthday, communion, confirmation etc. I will throw a few bob into it. Hopefully by the time she is going to college this will be enough to buy a few books, pay for accomodation for a while or just keep her in alcohol for a few weeks.

What is this type of account called and how do I set it up?
