XBOX(not 360) game recommendations?

Hi folks, just got an XBOX cheap. Didn't fancy 360 yet. This has probably been up before but I couldn't find one: A list of games ye'd recommend. I like most game types: FSPs, driving, god games etc..... Cheers folks

I recently got the midway arcade classics 2 package. It's got a load of old games like Mortal Kombat 2 & 3 and Rampage. It's great if you've got a few mates coming over and want to have a laugh. I think there are 20 games in all in it.

there is a pack out now with halo 1 and 2 plus the extra map cd all in the one box , then for driving games pgr2 and froza are good .

Games I recently enjoyed:

Forza
Tiger Woods 06 (lots of fun, but a bit too easy in the end)
Rallisport Challenge 2 (best driving game played so far)

Games I didn't enjoy:

Farcry Instincts
Burnout Revenge

You'll pick up Rallisport Challenge 2 for about €20 or so 2nd hand in Gamespot, definitely worth the money IMO.

There's the usuals: Halo & Halo 2
Project gotham racing 2

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath -> This was mostly overlooked when it came out. I got it as an xmas present. Excellent. Combines FPS and third person platforming. Is fairly cheap these days.

Beyond good and Evil

XIII : You can get this for something like 4 quid on Game.net Well worth it.

Project Zero if you like your horror games.

Psychonauts: Keep an eye out for this. It is released next month. It got the number 1 spot on Eurogamer's Top 50 of 2005.

The streetfighter aniversery edition is good but the xbox controller doesn't suit it very well.

Taito Arcade Classics : Bubble Bobble (best home version I've played) rainbow Islands, new zealand story, Operation wolf and more for £20 sterling


Hopefully there's enough there to keep you busy for a while

Did the same as you and got Halo 2, Worms4, Goldeneye, Terminator3, Fable and Timeslitters 2. Im gona get The new Burnout game

Thanks folks for all the recommendations. Must get SFII (Like my old-school fighters) and the bubble boble/rainbow islands. Have them on MAME (Own the ROMs of course ). Must get onto halo etc.

Call of Duty: Big Red One is a great game and is best played on xbox. Better than dull as ditch water Halo 2.

The Brothers In Arms games are fantastic, if you are new to the system get yourself down to Xtravision and Gamestop, both have sales on at the mo with some great deals. Go for the Silent Hill titles on the machine too, if a few scares are your kinda thing.

how can you recommend a game that isnt out yet? this is still assuming you have a demo, which, sorry, i doubt. dont believe the hype... just look at PDZ.

If the demo plays well, the series has been consistently high quality, and the feature list looks very impressive, why wouldn't you assume the game is good?

How can you decide what game to buy at all if a demo isn't even good enough? I'd be more swayed by my own experience of a demo than by a review I've read. Unless you only ever buy games you've rented and completed first?

Have fun with your 1080p(!) tv as the game is unlikely to support above 480p widescreen,but anyway, I'm assuming the game is good based on the demo and the pedegree that the TOCA name has, going back to when Tiff Needell done crappy voiceovers on the series 10 years ago.

First you doubt i have the demo(noob) then you doubt my ability to tell if the game is any good? right. I've played a lot of xbox games(have over 100) so I think i know a decent racer when it comes along.

Lol, what makes you think i play halo2 more then other games? halo1 is FAR better! (and ive always felt this way, i played halo1 religiously for many, many years) and tbh, the last xbox game i played was half-life2, or pro evo5.

Placebo, thanks for getting posters back on track.... Looked like there was gonna be a mudfight there. Glad to see so many old school games there. Played Halo on PC. Interested in seeing how XBOX version ans Halo 2 compare.

havnt completed it yet but seeing the movie, id say i am. Im at the part where your trying to escape and youve got Ann and everything. HAve to kill the dinosaurs and open the door to escape. That near the end yeah? Or do you go to NY like the movie?
