I'm looking for A4 paper that isn't beautifully white and smooth, but not quite as bad as news print. Not as bad as newsprint more unbleached than coloured.

    Here you go - http://www.vikingdirect.ie/(qswetkupmde31m45tl04rx55)/catalogSku.aspx?id=9537&N=3%20566&PR=QD1
I got this before and it is far from white but still good for general office usage

I buy all of my stationary from a company called B2B based here in Dublin. Nice company to deal with and have referred other companies to them.

Got their brochure in on Friday last and they currently have a special on at the moment for a max of 25 reams of A4 paper for 99c (Ex VAT) per ream.

OT but is there any reason ,other than price, that you want crappy paper? just curious. no reason for the question

I'm trying to get the printout look like an old book. Smooth paper with all that talc and stuff just don't look right. Also off white is easier on the eyes, but I don't want to use coloured paper.

You could try soaking normal A4 in some weak tea (without the milk!). My sister did it for a school project, it worked well.

Soak in tea, not quite the effect I was looking for but..
But then I'd have to Iron it :(

You might try and find some nice cheap unbleached recycled paper, that's usually got a nice greyish tinge to it.

First of all you seem to have legitimate purposes for this paper, but it reminds me of my college days! We needed some very specific paper for reproducing certain items ;) (and no, it wasn't money). Went to every printing company in Limerick but couldn't find paper with the right thickness and texture :( So unfortunately our great plan never took off.

TIP: The best way we found to evaluate the texture of paper is to slowly stroke it across your upper lip. A person's lips are much more sensitve than their hands.
