Crap I missed it. Do these things ever get repeated? Are they downloadable?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,958 ✭✭✭✭RuggieBear

there are parts downloadable on the late late show website at RTE but i do believe it is repeated late at night (early morning) during the week at some stage if you can keep your eyes peeled at the TV schedules and maybe record it.

I saw a bit of it. They had Bunny (sp?) from Charleville Castle on it too. She showed a photo with a vague shadowy figure in it taken of the main stairs that are facing you when you first enter the building.

I went up v.close to the TV, and I could see clearly a womans face in that pic! It definetly wasn't a smudge

I thought the other photo was freakier, with the pic of the little boy in the hearse ..shivers went up my spine so they did....

Uh, don't you remember that the guy who took that was with us at Charleville? We had a whole discussion about it on the stairs it was taken on...

If we're talking about the same photo, I fear your TV has lied to you. It was most definately just a silhouette shape.

It's Bonnie, and from what I've been told (I didn't see it), that picture came from the PRAI website. Also, the repeat is on Monday at about 11:30pm.

Edit: Regarding who took the picture, that would have either been myself or Donal, as I believe we were both on that investigation. I don't recall taking it, so it may have been Donal.

I remember the talk we had abut it as well, about the fact that it couldn't be a shadow because of the way the light was, etc.

Ok here are links to the pics shown by Bonnie, I have studied photography, worked as a photographer and as a graphic designer manipulating pics on a daily basis, from what i can see there is no way this is a shadow. If anyone wants to say this is a shadow I hope they can back it up, of course i cant say definativly what it is but i can say what it aint!

I'm my opinion its a fine example of a genuine "ghost" photograph.

if I recall correctly during the previous discussion on this topic, this photgraph was "enhanced" by PRAOFI.org
the originally photo is as seen here

    couresty of praofi.org.

looks like a young woman wearing a victorian ballroom dress.

Glad you all liked the picture; just to clear up any misunderstanding and i'm sure Andy (kennett) is unintentionally mistaken. But I actually took that shot as will be corroberated by Ian (malico) and it was enhanced by Dave a member of our group (PRAI) at my request.
The picture it'self was taken as a long exposure (about 6 seconds) without flash in a very low light environment. there is actually another taken just before or after I can't remember until I check the time stamp on the originals which I have preserved which does not show the anomaly

good to see you again redshift.

if anyone else is interested, (or for those who don't know) praofi have their own website with many other images from charleville in the gallery and a forum where you can ask questions or discuss the given topic in more detail.
    follow the link http://paranormalireland.org/

[and if I recall correctly both kennett and Zillah were members on that particular investigation]

    Mistaken about? O_o

Edit: Oh. I know what I was mistaken about now. I couldn't remember who took the picture, seeing as it was a while since I saw it. The fact that someone saying that the person who took the picture was with us threw me off completely.

The Late Late is repeated on monday night at around 11/12ish as far as I know. I heard about it myself, but didn't get to watch it.

Nay, that photo was in existence long before our investigation. I mistakingly believed that that Cork guy took the photo on a previous trip.

And frankly with a six second exposure that could have been anything. And I took a look at enhancing it and I wasn't able to get anything similar to the finished version using whole photo manipulations.

    What filters did you apply?

Who wants to see something interesting...?

Well, I was fiddling around with the original image to see if I could make it clearer. And I noticed something. What I have done to this image is: brightness, contrast, colour and crop. Nothing more. Note the red square...

The image is very green, as it seems to be most clear with that colour bias.

I'd love to get my hands on the original original one. The one we have is smaller than the late late one, so the one Solas linked to can't be the full original.

The enhancement seems to be a very basic, yet effective (in this case), use of curves and a slight contrast, took me about 10seconds to recreate it. Its a good pic mind though. It would be easy to fake it but i really dont think thats the case.

Zillah as for your manipulation, I do admit u had a low res to work with but the "face" seems to be just a pattern in the pixels, if it was a face its too high on the form.

The pic on the PRAI site has been optimised for the web in the case of the original and the enhanced version.
I will try and organise a copy of the original file for you.

    Yes I do! ... lol

Anyway in this case i do believe it is just a pattern in the pixels .... i'd be fairly sure you agree with me too. Still well spotted anyway.

True. I wouldn't have said anything if it wasn't about where the head of the figure would be.

Arac, if you noticed the empty chair beside the priests on the Late Late, I turned down the interview. The Fahey family from Galway were asked to do the show, but we were not allowed to mention that I had cleared the house. I felt it was an "advertisement" for the Church and exorcism so wouuld'nt contribute. They were still trying to talk us into it on Friday morning

Zillah the Late Late show is repeated on Monday or Tuesday nights late, after midnight I think, possible rte 2.. But the program was CRAP!!!!!!!! have access to a tape if anyone's really interested in hearing the church rant on about ouija boards.

The sketicism all over Pat's face was just funny though..once an engineer, always an engineer:rolleyes: I had heard that priest (the younger one) give a talk in ucg in Galway before though and found it interesting and a tad frightening..he had some fascinating stories about exorcisms

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 403 ✭✭mysteria

The younger priest is Fr. Pat Collins from All Hallows in Drumcondra. I've been on loads of interviews with him and we get on really well, he's cool, but it's his job to promote the church's involvement. He's been picking my brains for years re how I "get rid of" paranormal activities, and I always went out of my way to be polite and not put the church down in public. Then we did the "Big Bite" over a year ago, with the Fahey's, and within a few days Fr Pat was doing interviews in the papers saying that ONLY the religious should deal with these cases and people should'nt allow anyone else in. Hilarious in view of the fact that they can't produce one single person to say they've done the job! So no more politeness, its swords at dawn Pat. Watch out I'm going to have to tell the REAL truth about the churches involvement in these cases.( cackle)

I remember saying the exact same thing when the guy from Cork (can't remember his name) showed us the picture in Charleville, altough for the life of me I can't see it now in any of the pictures posted here now.

Tbh, I can't see it as anything but a face, but that could be because of the big red frame highlighting it.

The guy from Cork was called Donal, but it may have been me who showed you the photo, but don't quote me on that because it seems that at the moment, my memory is a little unreliable.

It wasn't that bad, the pysc. was very unlike most, he was well up for the idea of not just scientific answers!
