I hope this is the right area to post...
    Anyway,
I have lots of shots that I want to scan to my computer. I am currently using the HP Photo & Imaging software that came with my scanner. But what I am loooking for now is a nice piece of software ( free ) that will scan all these photos onto my computer semi-automatically..

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Hakko

to scan lots of photos you'll need a feeder which takes the photos into your scanner, the same way a printer feeds paper into it.

how would you expect software to load each photo for you?

    have a look at this:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002B3E6E/

this is one of the very reasons digital cameras are so popular

What I meant by semi automatically was that I could have a program scan the pictures and as I feed them into the scanner I would only have to press one button e.g enter on the computer and it scans the photo then just load another photo and press enter and so on..

I have it all done anyway so its a done deal. I hadn't as many as I thaught. I will be using a digi camera from now on tho'

Hi I have a feeder scanner that scans 30 photos (6*4") in 5min. I could give you a hand. Do you have many photos?

Btw bit of advice I recently forgot my digital camera so picked up a disposable for my xmas do. After I had the chemist put the photos direct to cd... hey presto digital photos for only €6! Didn't bother with the prints.
