Hi, I'm relatively new to the world of 'serious' digital photography but do use my beginners camera a fair bit. I'm tired of trucking to Boots and the like to print out ones that I like. As a result I am hoping to buy a direct (insert card) photo printer asap..

There seems to be a lot of them on the market at the moment and I am kind of at a loss as to which to buy. I intend to upgrade my camera coming to the summer so wouldnt mind spending a little extra on a decent printer.

If you might please let me know whats the best deal out there and perhaps a link that would be great! Thanks guys....

Epson or Canon are the best printers provided u use their ink and their paper. Ink and paper are very expensive. Printing at home is only cost effective if u are printing 8x10 or A4 or larger. For snap shots it is cheaper to go to a chemist. I have an epson 1290s A3 printer but to be honest I have only printed 4 shots at A3 and 1 of those was for somebody else. An A4 printer is more than enough.

According to the HP website, this printer is now discontinued. Does it come with ink cartridges? Would you accept €45 (no longer a continued item)...

My sister bought a direct card printer for her fella for xmas, don't know the model but it was an Epson and printed up to A4 which surprised me, I didn't think they did direct printers up to that size, she paid I think 150 euro at one of the retailers at liffey valley, pc world/dixons etc.
