Does anyone know of any free Data Recovery software that will recover a USB key, which is now in RAW format?

I've got the demo version of "EaseUs DataRecovery Pro" demo version, which can see the files, but is $80 to buy if you actually want them back.

...The girlfriends thesis is on this!! Any suggestions welcome

    Thanks in advance

    -C

rest2514 restoration - it copies one file at a time FAT/NTFS

oh hang on - RAW as in no FAT or NTFS :(

is the key recognised - if unix can you dd it to a file ?

    What happened it ?

is more than one machine involved
if not recognised by system try on an extension USB cable ( it worked for me once )

If none of the above work give me a shout. I should be able to recover it for you.

@ SouperComputer - Cool, I'm downloading pcinspector now (on dial-up at the mo:mad: so you may be gone by the time I find out if it works)

@ Capt'n Midnight - Yeh, no FAT or NTFS! We were printing from it on a mac, made some changes on PC and back to mac... the mac then wouldnt print, so saved up, moved to another mac and it thinks the thing is unformatted

@WizZard - Thanks also! If I have no luck, I'll post here and PM yourself and Souper, I'll be in the city centre in the morning if anyone is around

    anyway download continues...

do you eject the drive before removing it from the Mac?

TBH corrupt filesystems seems to be part of the territory with flash memory.
