I want to put a few tv shows that i have on my computer onto dvd, but firstly i want to be able to make a menu at the start so you can select what you want to watch.

Are there any freeware and easy programs that will let me do this? i just want something simple like.

    thanks

I'm pretty sure dvd shrink does it, but you'll have to re-author the dvd..
Not 100% sure though cos i dont have dvd shrink installed at the mo

I have DVD Shrink and I never saw the ability to create menu's anywhere

I use NeroVision Express (www.nero.com) I think it's payware but there might be a trial or shareware version. Also do a search for Ulead Movie Studio and "DVD Creator"

Nero is brilliant and easy to use. Plus the update has tons of menu's and button templates to use. Really good program

dvd shrink is as it sounds, it just compresses dvd's. It cant create menus or anything else similarly posh...

I was looking for something similar for Menu creation, I tried Nero Vision Express but the DVD ended up being 36GB (AVIs + Menus) instead of 6.83GB (the size of the AVIs I was putting on it)
It was a dual layer disc, obviously.

I looked at those other apps, Ulead and TMGEnc, but theysay nothing about having AVI files as input videos, only MPEG 1/2! :(

the size of a file goes way up when you try and make a DVD outta it. you also gotta remember that you can only have a limited amount of video time to put on a DVD. on a 4.7GB it's 120 mins

Well ok, I was thinking is there a way of making a data DVD with the 10 CD sized .AVIs (totalling ~6.83GBs) and then using the other 1.6GBS on the dual layer disc for some kind of menu that will allow me to select which file I want to play on my DVD player?
I think my DVD player supports data discs and is able to display simple file systems, but it would be nice to have a menu with pictures etc. :)

I'm looking for something similar. Trying to put 2-3 divx files onto a dvd. Experimenting with dvdsanta for now. I hear it's good, but I don't think it makes a menu.
