I was in the local last weekend and I saw a girl wearing shorts as part of her going-out ensemble. She wasn't out for a quiet drink either, she was done up to the nines, except for the shorts of course. Is this the done thing now? I thought it looked bloody daft. It wasn't exactly a tropical night either outside.

should check out Sydney, the shorts craze is everywhere in the clubs, although in fairness the chicks only started wearing them coming into summer there, personally i don't like em, and if you don't have the legs for em don't bother ladies, out of about 1000 or so chicks, i thought shorts looked good on about 10 of em, now hot pants would be a different story;)

as for wearing shorts out in this weather, well, some chicks are either just dumb or too caught up in FTV and have lost the plot, keep em for summertime ladies

Yea, I've seen women wearing them a lot over here, in the UK, I quite like them.

I was walking down the western road this evening, wishing I'd worn my trenchcoat this morning and a young 'un came out of the pub across the road wearing a pair of shorts!

yeah city shorts or whatever the 'haute couture' name for them is are sellin really well where i work and i think they can look savage with the right top and accessories. I got a fab brown pair the other day that look great with brown stilletoes and simple top.... cant wait to wear em out saturday!

shorts are great to wear out on a night out if you have the habit of perhaps drinking just a little too much ;] coz unlike minis they dont hike up and expose your deriere! [obviously as an extremely classy lady i've never experienced this!:v:]

Yep, I love the shorts! They look brill on some girls but you have to have the legs to wear them really!! As Scraggs said.. they look great with stilletoes!!
I bought a black pair a few weeks ago but everytime I've went to wear them I've changed my mind and worn something else!!... But this week.... yeaah Im going to go for it!! :D

i think they look a bit..well silly tbh! shorts are for gardening or something not for a classy night out. i know theyre all in fashion atm but heels and shorts? never a look i thought would be seen as fashionable.. each to their own though and if you can pull it off, fair play to ya!

not casual shorts.... dressy ones [god it sounds weird i know but ya have to trust me on this!!]

I don't like them... At this time of year they just look silly, and there's no way in hell they'd look good on me!

wow, i don't think i've seen "dressy shorts." maybe nicer pairs than others but yeah... usually i think of wearing shorts at a casual event, not at a dressy one. to each their own, of course... :)

They aren't like the type of shorts you wear during the summer... or out gardening!! The ones out now are nicely fitted and do actually look classy when worn properyl! Of course there are some girls out there who are abusing this whole short wearing thing, but they do look great on people who know how to wear them! :D

we saw a girl in barcode a while back who we thought was dressed as lara croft. kakhi shorts & a white wife beater, & this was in december! looking back on it now having seen at least 1 girl in shorts on most nights out since I presume she thought they looked good, they didnt. I dont like em at all.

I saw a girl in the Slate in cork recently wearing the afrorementioned shorts. I think though that she forgot to use the mirror to check the back of her legs because all i could see was cellulite.

Was out with some girl in Kilkenny and she was wearing black hotpants. Now she was hot, these shorts were NOT. The word hooker comes to mind. They were fecking ridiculous looking.

Lets hope this trend doesn't pentrate the Dublin clubs too much.
