    Well...I have ignored the person...

A friend of mine ran up to the birds door. Rang the Bell. Shouted YOUR DUMPED and ran off.

If you liked him why didn't you just say sorry and get back together with him? To just dump someone like that for no good reason is not nice.

Also still friends with all my ex's so never really had a bad breakup.

But I did break up with one over the phone & he kept pleading with me not to but I wouldn't give in.
(It was only a short term relationship though)

A friend of mine had one of the harshest dumpings ever known in Dundalk.

The local rag(d'argus)has a section in it called scene and heard where a journalist and photographer go around various pubs and birthday bashes and have mini interviews with all the drunken people. Usually just one liners eg Pighead was having a great time in the Fairways and was enjoying leering at all the fine ladies on show.

Anyway my friends girlfriend was interviewed and being slightly tipsy she came out with "Having a great time tonight, here with all my girlfriends enjoying being a single girl again as i'm dumping my boyfriend tomorrow"

Fast Forward to the following day and the poor chap had people coming up to him offering their condolences and telling him to keep his chin up,much to his bewilderment. Eventually somebody pointed out the scene and heard pages to him and he wept for many days, looking up at the rain leaden sky and screaming WHHHYYYY!

I just sort of started going out with someone else. The original girlfriend and I had a bit of a strange relationship though, like the only conversations we had were about how neither of us really liked each other, and were just together because there was fcuk all else going on.

So when I met this other girl, and started going out with her, I just stopped calling or seeing the other one. Eventually she got the message.

Then she had sex with my best friend, so everyone was a winner.

Broke up with a girl after almost 2 years, two days before Christmas. Needless to say, she didn't take it well and kept asking to give it another chance, so I did (mainly to shut her up :()

Kicked her to the kerb completely that New Years Eve. Still got the ride though.

    Yes, I'm a bastard.

I've broken up with a girl over email before.

Couldn't have the hassle of all the tears and everything like that , she was far to clingy and stuff .... was easier on me yes .. but i'm all the matters in the end =).

That sounds suspiciously like me....well....except for that last part!

Pighead, great sorry! If there was ever a reason to make a wild animal boar sound in work whilst attempting to conceal my mirth and pretend to be working, then you're it.

I called my ex up and told him flat out that we should stop seeing each other as I didn't love him anymore. Big, big fat lie which I wish I hadn't said but I was planning on travelling overseas and I couldn't deal with him constantly asking and hoping that I'd not go.

Only one of my break ups was bad, the rest were fine because I was the one doing it:) That one bad one made up for the rest though. Bastid!

I didn't have any bad break ups really, I am still good friends with most of my ex boyfriends!! There was this one guy though when I was about 14, he was such a nice fella but he was really clingy and used to do my head in!! So I didn't have the heart to break up with him so I stopped wearing make up, messed up all my hair and put on horrible clothes all the time so he would stop liking me!! haha...
Anyway, it didn't work so I rang him and told him I just wanted to be single! I felt really bad because he was such a nice person!!! His girlfriend is a lasher now though so I don't feel so bad!! hehe

Through a text message, blaming her mother for the breakup on my birthday... not good.

Im friends with all my ex's except for two of them, one of them was very violent and the other I was a bit cruel too.

I will always break up with someone to their face, anyone who does otherwise is a coward.

Even if you find out your girlfriend is an axe murderer and kills people everyone within a one mile radius when anyone breaks up with her? Would you really break up with her in person?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 120 ✭✭Lady_Macbeth

The only bad break up I've had was when the other half called it off because he had done the dirt and it devastated me. Anytime else, I've usually done the calling-off and it's usually been fairly mutual so we've been able to remain on good terms.

The worst, meanest thing I probably did to a member of the opposite sex was when I was a wee one, maybe 14/15 (bless!) and I was "going out" with this boy for ammmm...about a week! I knew him for a few years before that, we had always had a slagging relationship, y'know, denial, probably. Then he asked me out, I agreed. He wrecked my head with the corny shíte (who knew a 14 year old male could be so damn headwreckingly soppy) so I text him saying, "We should break up, we're better off as friends" and turned off my phone as soon as I got the delivery report. Needless to say, the messages from him when I turned it back on again (about 2hours later) ranged from, "oh my god what did I do? please don't break up" to "fine so" :o I still see him now, we get on fairly well and actually joke about it now :D

I started seeing this girl... On our first 'date' we bumped into someone she knew and introduced me as her new boyfriend. I said 'hey I'm not you boyfriend' she got real mad and that was the end of that. Quite funny at the time

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 955 ✭✭✭LovelyHurling

This is actually about the worst way someone has broken up with me, cos the worst Ive dont is tell her in an email (she was gone working in Japan and I still a student ffs!)

Anyway, she came round to my house christmas night 2003, her family lived a few houses away from ours, anyway, i was lying on my brothers floor watching a dvd with some other people, brothers, cousins and my Dad and she came in and asked me to come out. I said no, come lie down watch this its funny etc etc. She said no, i said whats wrong? People starting to look around at this stage. getting uncomfortable, so she goes fine, we're off". I didnt know what she meant at first, thought she just meant she was taking her granny home. And then i copped it, broke up with me in front of everyone! bahh bad form! I still get stick about it.

I dumped guys by text twice but the first one was a weirdo I'd only known him 3 three days and he was practically down on one knee despite not being able to remember my name so I figured if he saw "I don't think we should see each other" written down he might actually understand it.

Second guy I did it by text because he ws ignoring me I asked him to meet up with me coz i had something to tell him but he said "you might as well text it to me" so I did.

Ways I've been dumped while in college:
First guy: Was going out with him about three weeks when I had to go home to parents for a few days. While I was gone he started going out with someone else and never bothered telling me.

Second guy (who was hitting on me since first guy dumped me and fully aware of what had happened as well!) : Was going out with him for A DAY and then I had to go home the next day he started going with someone else and never bothered telling me.

Not a huge deal given the timespans of the "relationships". The first one was just a stupid kid and the second guy was just taking the p*ss.

I won't disagree with you as that's trully horrible!
You're the reason guys get slated by girls. As does the female equivalent.

Anyway, no stories from me but I know people who've dumped their partners on the partners' birthday,Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve.
    How ****ty is that?

Ehhh not really. He was hardly expecting her to day that.
And since she was the one doing it and knew the sensitive nature of it,magnified by the fact his family were present, she should have insisted he leave the room with her so she could tell me with some decency.

I started to get sick of my girlfriends drunken carry on (cheating included) so I broke it off with her. She tried to get off with a mate of mine to piss me off so I went off with a friend of hers.

We haven't seen eye to eye since.

    Made my day man.

I ain’t been dumped yet, so I can’t really say what the worst that was done to me.

Suppose the worst I've ever done to a girl would have been about 3 years ago was kind of seeing this bird who was about 25 and I was just 18 at the time so she asked me did I want to get into a relationship and I said yes, but over the course of that month I was a bit of a **** only calling up to the house when I... you know "wanted the ride" :D think she was really into me cause one of the girls in college told me she was always going on about me and was going to ask me did I wanna move in, so when I heard that needless to say I just ignored her completely for the next 6 months or so :(

Bit harsh but she’s found a nice bloke now and we still remain good friends, times change when you grow up :D
