If you had Digibox unplugged or card out it will have missed a key. Leave everything on and card in and it should be back inside a day if this is the case.

You say your card is 2 years old was it a new card or second hand when you bought it, if it is second hand its possible that its time period is up

Thanks for that suggestion, now please provide a link to any site on the whole wide internet that says that FTV cards have a 'time period'

All yellow house cards will be turned off by Sky at some point in the future when they are replaced, but your novel idea that individual cards have some sort of expiry date needs some evidential backup.

All i suggested was that his card maybe second hand what i mean about it being switched off was that its 3 year live expectancy could be up.
I dont have any link on the whole wide internet just reading posts on this forum for the last while but can some one explain then that if all ftv cards will be swithched of together at some point in 3 years that would make this card we are talking about 5 years old

The new cards have not been out three years.

A S/H subscription card will be turned off if original customer orders a new card. This is nothing to do with its age.

No-one knows really when Sky will turn off & replace existing cards. If it is sooner than 3 years you get a free replacement, if you paid for a "Freesat from Sky card". The position of replacement price for cancelled subscriber cards is unclear.

Unless some SELFISH STUPID IDIOT EGOTISTICAL THIEF hacks Sky and tells someone, Sky won't replace the cards at all.

Thanks Watty you have made the FTV card subject a lot clearer to me

A lot of companies i have contacted in the UK regarding ftv cards have told me the same thing, once a ftv card is activated it has a life expectancy of 3 years from the day its activated

No, that's not the case. The individual cards themselves don't have a "life expectancy" as such built into them - the cards last as long as Sky allow them to.

When Sky decide to replace the current FTV cards they will disable them. However if you have it less than a certain amount of time (not sure how long) they'll replace it free of charge. Otherwise you'd have to pay for a new one.

Although the FTV cards service in the future is very up-in-the-air. The only channels they give access to now is Channel 4, Five and Sky Three.

It looks like a sale's ploy with the companies that are selling ftv cards by telling people that the cards are active for 3 years

Thanks for your various replys/info.I should have explained that my FTV card still has BBC 1-4 and ITV 1-4,however I have lost my Channel 4 and 5.Have these channels suddenly become subscription only in the UK? I bought the card 2nd hand from the UK approx 2 years ago.

BBC1-4 and ITV are free to air meaning no card is required, the FTV card only receives Channel 4, five and sky thrcc.

Why have I lost Channel 4,5 and sky 3?

Those are the ONLY FTV channels.
Your card is not decoding. Leave it in box and see does it go OK.
