My dad has told me that Paul Nolan is pretty confident of Escreas chances on Sunday in the Pierse Handicap.

If it rains all the better!

Ive taken the 6.8 currently on betfair

I have been told that Victram is going to win tomorrow in this race, that is all I know, the information is supposed to have come from someone that has a share in the horse or owns it. I am not even sure if I will back it myself, but it seems to be the 2nd fav on betfair just slightly ahead of Cyrus' tip Escreas.

    I'll be backing on Sunday.
The Railway Man in the 1.20 .I think he's been crying out for this kind of trip or further.

Studmaster (e.w) in the 2.20.Nice turnaround in the weights with Escrea on their last run here.

there is a lot of money about for victram, i suppose that the three market favs will battle it out, too open a race to go big on anything imo :)

i got a good word for LEVITATOR in this race and it is interesting to note that barry geraghty has chosen this horse over blue corrig who is also racing in this race.

HE IS FORECASTED TO BE 14/1.

if you see any support for it in the betting put a bet on.not too big 5 euro each way max.

Wow, what a race to pick a winner. Of the favourites I would take No Where to Hyde over Escrea and Victram, No Where to Hyde finished 4 lengths in front of Escrea when beaten by Feathered Lady in December, he is also 5lb better off for that, so I can't see how Escrea can turn that form around.

Victram was hugely fancied for William Hill hurdle at Sandown, he came to win the race 2 furlongs out but found nothing when put under pressure, that lack of a finishing kick would put me off him today.

Of the others I had a long standing interest in Studmaster who I was told to watch this year some time ago, he is weighted to beat Escrea today based on their last meeting, the major concern is the form of the Harrington yard is still being troubled by a virus and is totally out of form, she has only had 1 winner out of her last 140 runners and that was back in October.

Rocket Ship is available at 8/1 to place on Betfair, that is a huge price for an undoubtably well handicapped horse, the change of tactics on him at Leopardstown over Christmas brought about a big improvement.

Good win for Studmaster, I ended up doing Studmaster each way and No where to Hyde to win. Won a few quid, if only the first 2 finished the other way around, I'd have been well happy, I suppose that's just being greedy though.

Never sighted in a race that while Nickname dominated, the others (particularly t r m) never tried to keep anywhere near the winner.I have no doubt the winner is a usefull animal but David Casey just sat at the back & made zero effort, then one mistake and gone ,pulled up?..

Drifted alarmingly in the betting also 3's to 5's ,I wasn't happy with the running /riding of the horse at all and I feel that there was something "going on" to say the least as it seemed common knowledge just before the off that it would run a stinker.

As many conspiracy theories as betfair on here.

There were severe doubts about the railway man's stamina, and in what was atrocious ground (in which one horse truly acted) he was never going to be hammered about the place. He could have been ridden by O'Dwyer who correctly rode the favourite. It was reported on RTE that Moore wasnt entirely confident that his horse would like the trip in the ground.

Those who backed The Railway Man should console themselves with the probability that had he run to his best, he still wouldnt have won.

    Probably true,
but he should have been withdrawn before the race or else ridden to at least have a chance in the race.I just don't get this sit at the back routine and never at any time ask the horse for an effort.

I'd say if the race was run again AP would have been pushing a lot earlier,he made up a huge amount of ground in the straight .

He looked to be nudging the horse along from a good way out. With a mile to run I didn't think he had a chance and I was already blaming the ground, so I was pleasantly surprised to see him finish so well. (Especially considering I had got on e/w at 12/1 after I mentioned him in the Horses To Follow thread last week.)

Well done on Studmaster - I went with Kilbeggan Lad for the same reason but he was one of those who sank in the mud.

I disagree with you about The Railway Man, think he could go well in the two "Arkles", later in the month and at Cheltenham ... but sure then isn't that what makes up 90 per cent of this game - opinion.

    k.
