I,d like to be able to listen to mp3 songs from my pc,without building network on my fm stereo reciever.
Is there any itrip like device that plugs into pc soundcard or speaker sockets, that would broadcast mp3,s from winamp or a mediaplayer on fm frequency , i know i could just connect pc to stereo with audio line in cables, from souncard,i,m just curious.i just found the rocket fm,device but it needs winxp ,i only have win98 installed at the moment. Is there any shop in dublin that sells rocket fm device or similar device?

Just get any FM Transmitter- Belkin do a nice one - plug it into the speaker jack and tune your radio to the same freq.

If you're using it from a PC, you might want to try get one that can be mains powered though.

Doesn't an I-Trip just accept a stereo jack input from the line out of an i-pod or other mp3 player? If so, it will connect straight to the line out/speaker out of your soundcard via a 3.5mm jack cable. The cheapo knock-off "I-Trips" you can get on ebay do this. They don't always work though if you read the feedback.

I've heard of a shop in Limerick selling these and I think they just connect by a jack cable, so something like that would do. Try Maplin or Peats maybe.

the i trip takes its power from the i pod, so its no use for pc soundcards, ill try peats or maplins in town.

Arkon have several mini FM transmitters, including one that's powered via USB cable.

I wasn't aware any shop in europe sold FM transmitters (especially ireland) as aren't they illegal?

Best bet is to either nab one off ebay, or build your own. Be warned the range on these are usually very limited. I really doubt it could go through even one wall and still be a crisp strong signal.
