What makes you violent?

I just wanted to know what sets people off to the point where actual violence is seen to be an acceptable reaction? (Before anyone says it, 'yore ma' and 'stupid threads like this' are a non-runner :D ) I won't make apologies for it but when I'm drunk and someone riles me I do tend to make violent attempts (most attempts fail) but a few have been serious.

What would it take to set you off?! How about someone callin you names? What about someone being racist towards you (seeing as it is a hot topic)? What if someone hit you? Would you be the bigger person and just walk away? Is violence ever acceptable? I personally think yes, in some situations, violence cannot be avoided - it can be minimised to a certain extent, but sometimes it just can't be avoided.

If a person is hitting me or someone who doesn't look like they can defend themselves, and reasoning with them and walking away aren't working, then I suppose it'd be necessary. Otherwise, it's not, not in any cases I can think of.

I hate it when a pussycat tries to front, he be like "meow", but I be like "talk to the palm, coz you ain't the bomb" They're all the same, always looking for food. It makes me want to get violent and express my rage through heavy metal

Being frustrated over things makes me feel violent..I never actually get violent to the point where I would actually harm someone/something.
I'm actually really frustrated right now...I'm so in the mood to thrash the livin' daylights outta something right now  Like a pillow not something living.

I rarely get violent, even if someone starts on me, I usually talk my way out of it. Hrm...I guess if someone (And they have) stole some of my art, I would be very tempted. That or hurt my mum or da.

Well i presume here that we're excluding self-defence? I think most people would consider hitting back acceptable if they were attacked!

But assuming that!......nothing! I don't get violent...angry maybe, violent no!....the only time I've come close is niggling on the GAA pitch but that doesn't count!

No real point....be the bigger man/woman!

if someone hits me or spits at me, insults are easy to walk away from. I suppose if someone had a go at someone close to me, i might get a bit violent.

I dont tend to feel violent really, think Im mostly a fairly passive person, but I did punch someone on the pitch a while ago but only cos he tripped me up on purpose. I got sent off and given a lecture but I think I have learned to deal with my temper since last week:D

Im deffo not as bad as a neighbour of mine growing up... when his parents went on holidays one year, he chased his older sister around the house with a knife many times. There were kids and parents and everything just standing at the garden wall hoing *oh $hit...* hilarious

I'm not violent at all. Some things will anger me but nothing enough to make me hit someone or use any means of force. I don't hit back or get even or any of that.

I think violence in sport is completely different though unacceptable.

Blonde girls. They all call me names behind my back. All of them. They stop when I follow them home and kill them. Oh yeah... that makes em stop.

I'm not inclined to be physically violent (skinny asian girl is not likely to win any physical fights) ... but I can get pretty upset ... usually out of frustration or stress, whether it's with something I'm doing in school or with another person (mis-communication or just lack of it..) but yeah...
