connecting to xbox live on the 360

    i still cant get on to xbox live.have the 360 a month now.i have broadband in a student village im staying in in galway.it tests the conection and fails on dns.the broadband seems to be fine on the pc. how come its not working.its driving me nuts!! thanks.

    Possibly some of the settings on the router....well thats what I had to change.
    If you're at a student village you might not have access to the router settings.

    Search this forum and you'll find the setting you need to change.

    And AFAIK Xbox live doesnt work with some bb providers...

    yeah something about NAT error.

    If you can, get a static IP for your 360, then input the address' of the DNS servers you are useing and hopefully that will get it up and going. Also check that the ISP is Xbox live! compatable, as mentioned by the lafors

    Can you play games on the PC though? Chances are the college will have only allowed port 80 (internet) and a few select others open, to stop students using p2p software etc. So theres not much chance of getting the xbox online if thats the case.

    no dont think i can play games on the pc.the port is 80, that must be the reason.I'll have to get broadband back home. any recomendations on bb providers for online gaming? thanks for the help.
