Hi there welcome to the boards.

Yes there is Muay Thai in Belfast....but firstly why do you say you doubt you could do it??? Surely you must try first??!!!!

Anyhow its The Sheran Muay Thai Club run by Frank McConville...look for PaddyC in the members list send him a private message and he will direct you and give it a go, good luck!!!;)

I don't know why, it seems hard.

    Thanks for your help dude.

All sports are hard, that's why they're enjoyable. If it was easy you wouldn't enjoy it as much

True.. if it was easily you wouldn't really benefit from it.

Hey Mist if you're unsure about training in Muaythai then I WOULDN'T recommend going down to just look at these guys training. Before anyone jumps down my throat I don't mean anything derogatory to you or Frankie (or any of his lads for that matter), but I know the guys very well and I know what their standard/work ethic is like and someone coming down to just watch them train, particularly someone not really wanting to train, wouldn't go down very well.

However, if you decide that Muaythai IS for you then I couldn't advise a better club for training in. BTW a lot of people in Muaythai don't compete and do the art because they enjoy the training.

I imagine the club is of the ethic that if you're in the gym, you train damn hard. I can respect that.

Also, I don't really see the point myself of watching other people train before deciding if it's for you. You miss so much just by watching a sport, once you get in there and play it a bit you get a much better insight.

I'd say Frank has a good way of introducing beginners (as do all the good coaches I know) so you won't be sparring full rules within five mintues of walking in the door.

Well I can't actually go because the beginners class is on Tuesdays at 7:30 and i have Ju-Jitsu at 6 and Taekwondo at 8 so that rules it out.
