Free Message Boards

Is there any free message boards out there...?I have a Yahoo group and its getting bigger and I hate the format so I am looking to switch it over to a message board.I had a look at vBulletin but its abit pricey for something thats voluntary.

Any advice...?

theres millions of free msg board systems.

the most popular being phpBB. then theres YABB and YABBse

I take it you actually have a website to host it on?

i may be wrong but i thought your options would be limited with yahoo groups. phpbb is nice and easy to set up and run , take a look at the forum in my sig, thats phpbb.

you need a database and access to the server for a message board to work.

I want to completely move away from Yahoo...The Yahoo group was grand when I only had a few members but now I have over 300 it just looks old and messy,I basically want to setup a message board (I have no hosting) and leave a link on the old Yahoo group.

There are plenty of free boards with hosting available, most include some form of advertising.
Stear clear of hyperboards though, a few months back one of their servers died and they had no backups at all, hundreds of boards were completely lost.
