Ok just built a new computer on friday and im having trouble installin XP, it keeps telling me there is a boot up error with the hard drive or that the system disk is broken or somthing. Its really doing my head in. Could it be a faulty hard drive?

download hiren's boot cd, and try resizing or changing partitions, if it gives you some error than I'm afraid it might be a HD :(

hiren's boot cd also has diagnostic utilities.

And it just might be the IDE cable that it's connected to.
