Media Centre Remote

    My media centre has never worked since I bought it. The little red light on the receiver lights up when I press buttons on the remote but nothing happens on the screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    what make?
    model?
    how old is it?
    where did you buy it?
    is it under warranty?
    have you contacted your supplier?
    is this the only thing thats broken on it?
    batteries?

    It's the packard bell one... got it in pc world they said they'd need to see the machine and wou;d have it for a minimum of two weeks.

    well if it's never worked and it's not working now then why don't you just give it to them for the 2 weeks, your not going to be using it for anything if it's broken. Use your warranty man! I don't think anyone on boards can help you with your problem because it's very general and we wouldn't be too familar with that product anyway.

    Have you installed drivers for the remote. Try "Girder" from http://www.promixis.com/ it allows you to program the remote buttons. Current version is 4 which you have to pay for , but if you Google for v3.29 its free.
