Hi folks, ive got one very weird poblem playing day of defeat 1.3.
Im getting a stuttering that can last like 3-4 seconds and is totally random but makes the game unplayable for me.
Its not fps issue or lag spike issue as both fps and net graph never stray from normal.
All i can think of is maybe an issue with dual core CPU and DOD1.3.
I know its a long shot but i remember a few years back a racing sim called grand prix legends had a similar issue and they had to bring out a patch at the time called a fast cpu patch because anything over 1ghz was causing some sort of information overload with GPL which was and is a really old game.
The patch sorted things out but this scenario was the first ive ever come across with a game.
As i say its probably a long shot but could there be sometning similar with DOD and maybe the HL engine?
Ive re-installed DOD1.3 3 times now and getting the very same issue.
Its deffo not a prob with my system as i play games like BF2,DOD-S,COD2,FEAR with fantastic framerate at highest settings without a problem.

DOD 1.3 is unplayable for me,ive tried all the usual gfx settings in nvidia control panel, fsaa,aa,v sync etc etc and its not them.
    Any ideas guys?
Maybe someone else with dual core AMDs get same problem?
NOTE : this only began when i got new system.

Have you used the Creative Auto update thing recently?
Probably be the sound card as the other games you mentioned use EAX and other nice new sound stuff.

No i havent m8,thats the first i heard of it.

    Just came across this also,
    http://www.dayofdefeat.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53520&perpage=15&highlight=dual%20core&pagenumber=2
didnt try it yet though,i assume installing new cpu drivers is ok?
Ive never done cpu drivers updates before and would hate to see system suffer for sake of one game.

If theres one out you possibly need it, can always use system restore in case it muffs up.

    Ok man thanks for that.

Just incase anyone else has this issue, the new drivers sorted the problem.
