Mods, feel free to move if you want...
I just found this while looking for cheap flights http://www.virgingalactic.com/en/default.asp from what I can see, the flights are not all that cheap, $200,000 for a trip to space, but still pretty cool!!
    Book now for 2008?
The first flights are planned to begin in 2008. We are now starting to take reservations and deposit commitments for the first year of operations. The ticket price has been set at US$200,000 and the minimum, fully refundable deposit to secure your spaceship seat is US$20,000.

Yeah I remember the launch of this.

Thing is, you dont actually go "into" space, you just kinda skim the outer edge of the atmosphere. Would still be something quite funky.

I wonder who the first couple will be to be part of the 620mile high club?! :D

Tom was first to register for the flight and signed a contract in February 2005 with Virgin Galactic to become Ireland’s first astronaut and space tourist.

You can hardly call him an astronaut AND space tourist!?! Astronaut to me implies you've done serious training and have some scientific reason to go into space, this guy has just paid his way!! ****er!

I hate people with money to burn

BTW there is an Irish girl in the NASA astronaut programme, well at least there was one a couple of years ago. Hope she beats this guy into space!
