Is it possible to get another cable (little red and black ones I think) and link it to the main power of the computer to the dvd writer? I bought 2 new IDE devices ( 200gb Drive and Sony DVD writer) so I needed an IDE PCI adapter. But I need another power cable to turn on the sony writer? Can you get them and if so how do you put them in?

    Cheers

you mean a power splitter - take the connection from the HDD or existing drive and split it.

    http://www.marxcomputers.ie - cables
Y power cable (int. Splitter) Euro 4.00 inc VAT

peats and maplins do them too if you are in town - marx are in clontarf so might be on your way in.
