    Hey all,

Just thought I post up a note regarding recent dealing thomann..

I order a couple of bits and pieces (nothing major - less than €100 worth) last Friday or Saturday night. I received an email on the Monday morning (Jan 2nd) confirming that my order had been received (automated I think).

On Tuesday received a text meassge confoming that my order has been shipped and thanking me for the business which I thought, was a nice touch.

Now I haven't actually received the goods yet but I have been very impressed with them so far...A lot a people are quick to complain about service so I thought it might be worth mentioning a positive encounter.

Hopefully everything arrives okay.. tis in the hands of the courier now I expect.

    Seany

Yup thomann provide good service on their part. Unfortunately DFDS are a bit slow. My package arrived at their depot on a friday. They wouldnt deliver it mon or tues. They contacted me and asked whether Wednesday or Thursday would suit delivery. I said wednesday as nobody would be in the house on thursday and took the day off college to sign for it. 1pm no sign of the truck so I rang them. They called me back and said it was on the truck and should be there soon. 4pm.... 5pm..... 6pm.... nothing. Waste of a day off college. Rang them and said they were never able to fit it onto the truck  It arrived the next day but I couldnt miss that day in college (exam) so my dad had to take a half day from work to sign for it

It may be cheap delivery with thomann but it ended up costing the delivery fee, a half days wages and a day off college which I'd rather not have missed

At least nothing was damaged :D

Thomann have improved recently I will admit and I've badmouthed them enough times ;)

But this business of the delivery driver leaving my package with the neighbours? Do i not like that

Think they are shipping with UPS now rather the the standard post which seems to be improving things, still dont give you the tracking number though

Can anyone confirm who they use for shipping? Please don't say GLS...

And who do musicstore.com/musicstorekoeln.de use for shipping for that matter?

Email them and ask. It was DFDS last month. They are based in naas and give you a tracking number if you contact them

Any time I've ordered with Thomann it's been DHL.

Appologies, i meant DHL, no idea why i typed UPS
Point was that its not the german 1st class post combined with the wonderful services of SDS over here that they used to send your stuff by.

Maybe they use dhl for smaller shipments but to post a big shipment would cost too much with DHL hence they use DFDS. I got a piano and the box was huge

    Which piano did ya get?

Full marks to thomann. Cheap, efficient, great selection... i recommend them to my friends and if ye do the same thry'll have even more customers which means bigger orders for them which leads to bigger discounts from their dealers...and so it goes on in a virtuous circle so tell everyone!!!
