So there isn't really much difference other than the percentages? Which is a better option? i know that with the RW ones you can rewrite over it again. i mean whats a better option between + or - ?

i think the general concensus is that + is better albeit only slightly, but i'm no expert on the subject

nowadays, there is not that much difference. + often better on the technical side(speed, etc.) and - for practical side (Slightly higher compatibility with standalone players,etc.).
Provided the drive accepts either: Focus more on the dye and make of the DVD media & speed rather than whether it's + or -, to be honest.

Don't worry about the difference in format. Almost all drives these days write to both +R and -R.

If you want your data to still be there next year, get a brand name. Verbatim are very highly regarded. Taiyo Yuden are the best but very expensive. Any other name you recognise (memorex, phillips, what have you) will be fine but I'd prefer the afforementioned two.

    Don't buy BulkPaq!

I've used BulkPaq - only had a problem with one Sony drive (which had a problem with most brands), and a firmware update resolved it.
Most of the Big Brands rebrand the same discs...

I buy lots of Datawrites' "Yellow Label". So far, its being good, and compatible with lots of DVD players. I've also been able to play the odd DVD on a PS2. The DVD's usually cost between 25cents and 50 cents, on mediawrite.ie

I've bought both plus and minus. The only difference thus far, is that plus used to be dearer. Now, though, its cheap, unless you goto a higher burn speed.
