making firefox the default browser

    I have been using firefox for a good while now but never set it as default browser now I just did but when i click on a html on my desktop or something nothing happens unless there already is a firefox window open.

    this is only problem i ever had with it,

    right click any html document, click properties and change "opens with" to firefox, see if that helps

    Go to Tools-Options in Firefox. Then click the checkbox for "Check if Firefox is the default browser on startup". Next time you start Firefox it will ask you to set it as the default.

    You can also mess around with "Set program access and defaults" on the Start menu in Windows 2000/XP with the later service packs.

    tried both of the above, when i double click a html file now nothing happens but a firefox process does start cause i can see in processes in task manager.

    Maybe try changing the default back to IE, then restart and change it back to Firefox.

    What happens if you click a web link from an email?
