I need to get a buckle sorted out and having my brakes fixed(the springs dont seem to working properly?).

Anyone know how much this would cost and could it be done on the spot in somewhere like cycleworld?

Yes, it can be done in a few minutes at any good cycle shop as long as your rim ain't kinked. Skilled application of a nipple key will sort out a moderate buckle, but if the rim is kinked it means its strength is compromised and it could damage the tyre and it will have to be replaced.

As for cost, not sure as I haven't had to get it done in many years (I straighten my own) but it won't bankrupt you.

€15 for the buckle I'd say.

I don't know about the brakes, maybe they need new pads.

Get the nipple tightener and do it yourself after reading one of the many tutorials on the net.

It's rarely that simple though. Before you attempt this on your current wheels, practice on an old one first.

you can find instructions online, it is easy enough, key is to do quarter turns and keep checking, if you make the turns too big you tend to make it worse and then it takes ages...
