Inch Strand in East Cork is one of my favourite locations for photography. It achieved notoriety of sorts in January 05 when the body of young Robert Holohan of Midleton was found nearby. The case culminated in the courts recently when his neighbour and friend Wayne O'Donoghue was found guilty of his manslaughter. All in all a Greek tragedy for everybody concerned. It is impossible to visit the strand since without feeling a frisson of horror for what happened, especially when one passes the spot where the boy's body was located: when I was there a couple of weeks ago there was still a mound of flowers and toys as a memorial to Robert. Despite that however Inch Strand is still a beautiful place. This is a shot of the low December sun about to set at around 4.30 pm. Canon EOS 20D, Tamron 17-35.

That's a very nice setting, but I don't think you used it to it's full potential. Perhaps if you used a wide angle lens and turned the camera on it's side to get the foreground, horizon and more sky in. I think it's very nice, but I've very distract by the huge mass of sea. I don't find my eye wondering around the picture as it naturally should especially in a photo with no single definite subject.

good picture in total, but perhaps the technique/composition is a off. In my opinion!
