Ninja Gaiden / black and xbox 360

Right, possibly a very stupid question but I do need help. I got a 360 and it is updated to 1.2 software to play the Xbox games. I bought Ninja Gaiden, preowned and it would not load for me.

It picked the game up as an original Xbox game but just hung on that screen. So I returned it thinking it was faulty and got Ninja Gaiden Black. The same thing happened.

I then loaded it on an original Xbox and it loaded fine. I have got Xbox games to run on the 360 so it is not that. I re-updated the 360 and now it picks Ninja Gaiden Black as a DVD.

Have I missed something huge? Do I need to be connected to Live to play?

Thanks in advance for a help.

    Eoin

Not all games are supported by the 360s emulation of original xbox titles.

Ninga Gaiden / Ninga Gaiden Black should work however.

Full list of supported games - http://games.techwhack.com/259/131106-xbox-games-supported-by-xbox-360/

    You have done this I take ? - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=24e8786e-0c1a-4afc-9738-76f4f6cce1ef&DisplayLang=en

I know about the games, it was the reason I bought Ninja Gaiden, I was trading in the games that did not work.

I have run the update twice and after the 2nd time it pick the game up a a DVD

I think I'll try it one more time

    Hi,

Out of interest, how is your Xbox 360 connected to your TV/Monitor? do you use the regular cables, hi-def cables or vga cable?

as far as i've heard, ninja gaiden doesn't emulate very well on 360. just the way the system distributes resources i believe

theothernt: I am looking for the vga cable but no luck yet, so it's connected to a TV throught the scart.

When I find a place that has the cables I'll put a post up.

projectmayhem: I've heard that too, but at this stage i'd be happy just to see it run at all

Ive read on other forums that the xbox 360s emulation of 'compatible' xbox games are very dodgy, Ive read some people can't even get Halo or Halo 2 to run without freezing up. Im avoiding to buy an xbox 360 untill microsoft solve all these issues through stable software updates and reduce the price.

I'm having the same problem with Sniper Elite, another supposedly compatible Xbox title, which I bought on the strength of the BC list.

Makes you wonder if they tested these games thoroughly.

Anyone had any success in reporting problems with the list to M$?
