i think he was on one of those celebrity poker things that sky were doing about a year ago with football managers/darts players etc. dont think he did very well.

if i go on to that derren brown site, will i get hypnotised?

anyway, he uses people on his show whose mind he can "read" easily.
that is to say he uses techniques to make people think the way he wants them to think, and these people give of signals which he can read easily

if you remember his russian roulette show he picked the person he felt he could influence the most

good poker players on the other hand will not be influenced and will not give off signals and will therefore be harder to read...

Found this, can't make much sense of it myself (I'm not a poker player) but someone might get something out of it.

Seems to be some kind of trick rather than anything else... but I may be wrong.

there's only 1 queen in the 10 card deck i think, so the in volunteers hand, the Q can't pair...best hand then would be 3 of a kind...
