Have been planning to get a decent TFT for a while now... I was able to get dell monitors very cheap but my contact in dell is no more..

    I can get them vat free tho so a 24" comes in @ €1091 r a 20" @ €466...

So i could get 2x 20" for less than the 24"... Only thing is i've no need for 2..

Getting it from america works out at the same price, so here's hoping dell decide to slash the price of the 24" soon :o:o

Does anyone know of any LCD Tv's that have decent resolutions that'd be good for gaming?? 24-26" is the biggest id go as the monitor is gonna be used in the bedroom(eventually) for tv/dvd...

Why not just get the 2 20 inch? It's gonna be bigger then a 24inch?

Cause it's be annoying watching a dvd r playing a game spanned over two monitors... Fo using windows it'd be fine but apart from that...

Were you thinking of getting the Dell 24 incher? I was researching these and the Dell US forums are full of people complaining about backlight leakage problems...kind of put me off.

    I've since bought a Phillips 200W6 20" widescreen. I couldn't be happier :D

Lots of reading up to do.. The 23" looks good with the Xbox 360 from what i've seen

I have the 26" of that samsung screen, it's very nice. With VGA connector the res is 1366x766.

For anything that size you need a decent native res.. The 24 inch Dell widescreen monitor has a native res of 1920 x 1200 and trust me, you need it!!

They are releasing a 30 inch TFT soon that will come in at about 2000 probably. Their new monitors seemingly has HDCP support too which is nice..

Do not by an LCD TV for use as your primary monitor unless it supports 1080p anyway (1920 x 1200).. Your eyes will be wrecked..

I realised that last night when i saw the res... I was reading up about dells new monitors. Wonder if it'd be worth the risk trying to get one in from the states(have family over there that can get it). Maybe i'll get the 20" dell n the 26" samsung. Would prob work out cheaper than the dell..

The new 20 and 24 inch models with HDCP won't be out for a few months yet I feel.. The 30 inch is going to be out in the new year anyway.

As I said on another post before, I have 2 of the 24 inch models in work and they are an amazing monitor. Very seriously considering buying one this week as it happens.

They are class, i saw them while i was doing a bit of work in google.. Hopefull they'll cut the prices with the release of the new models. It was allot cheaper last year, they had 25-30% off it for a couple of weeks.. Still think i'll get one of those samsungs tho.. someday

I'm running 1024x768 - I'd be annoyed by the 2 missing pixels, ok maybe not. :D

My mate has the 32 inch model and its a stonker of a TV set.. It works pretty well when used as a monitor but you have to sit well well back it for anything more than 5 mins use - i.e. not a hope you would use it in the traditonal sense as a monitor..

I am looking at them on overclockers.co.uk at the moment and they are coming in at €950 - 400 less than on Dell.ie.. Reckon I will make the purchase this week.
