    this what ebay says

are writing to inform you that we recently ended all listings for seller pinkpunk! on eBay. The seller’s privileges to trade on eBay have been temporarily suspended while we investigate this matter further. (The current account status can be viewed next to the user ID of the seller on the eBay site.).

Our records indicate that you were a participating bidder or buyer in this seller’s listing. You will need to use your own personal judgment in deciding whether to complete this transaction.

As described in our User Agreement, eBay is only a venue, and we cannot guarantee that sellers will complete transactions nor can we guarantee the delivery or quality of bought items. As a basic principle, a buyer should know with whom he or she is dealing before sending a payment to a seller.

Depending on the circumstances, you might decide to delay payment to a seller until completely confident that the transaction will be completed safely. If you decide to delay payment but already paid by personal cheque, you may wish to contact your bank to discuss whether it would be possible to stop payment on the cheque. If you paid with a credit card, you may wish to contact your credit card company’s security department to discuss this payment – many companies provide protection in certain circumstances. If you paid by money order, you may want to contact that money order company for information on how to stop payment.

Please note that the ending of the listings for this seller is a precautionary measure. The grounds for this suspension may be the result of a mistake or misunderstanding.

The seller is selling 609 items over the last 3 weeks with a pevious record of 54 positives. I would exercise caution in buying from this seller.

I was in the same boat a few weeks ago. I bought a dvd and paid for it and within a few hours the seller was no longer registered. The seller actually sent me an email saying that ebay cancelled his account and asked if I wanted a refund or if I still wanted the item. So I asked for a refund, but after a day I didnt get any email from paypal/ebay saying I was being refunded and so i thought the seller was gone with my money. So i looked at reporting this to paypal, but it said I could not report it for 10 or so days. But i eventually copped on that I had used my brothers account to pay for that item and the money had being refunded. So I was lucky, but what I want to know is, if a sellers account is cancelled - is there paypal a/c frozen?, as whats to stop them transfering the money to their bank account before ebay/paypal bother to listen to your complaint.

ps: will ebay ever bother to rid irish ebay of fake chinese sellers selling electronics that not so bright irish ppl will buy and never receive?

This actually happens quite alot(ebay accounts vanishing)
It usually just happens when ebay are doing a random acount investigation on them to prevent their details from changing while ebay checks them out.

OF course if your man isn't replying to his emails there may be something up.

    Good luck!

Jeez just noticed this... 54 from 609 is not a good ratio at all!

You didn't do a thing wrong. Paypal may not be perfect, but it's generally your least worst option when it comes to auction payments.

Perhaps eBay are investigating why the item location is Estonia when the registered detailes say France.

this what the seller told me

Im sorry to tell you but my account PINKPUNK! was blocked because I recived
    3rd non pay strike

    what does that mean?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,575 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

He is claiming that he has recieved 3 non paying bidder strikes. Effectively he has bought stuff and did not pay on 3 occasions with 3 different sellers. Those sellers have reported him to ebay. Amazingly none of these sellers has given him, negative or neutral feedback which I find very strange.

Have a look at what he has bought off sellers. 206 items!!

    http://cgi6.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidItems&userid=pinkpunk%21&sort=3&page=1&rows=25&completed=1&all=0

It sounds as if his account has been hijacked and I would ask for a refund and complain to Paypal if he refuses.

people generally don't leave negative feedback because they know it will result in the other party leaving negative as well.

3 strikes and you're out, it's an automatic suspension as soon as you received a third non payment strike.

I have always left a negative for people who do not pay. I have left 6 negatives and got 1 negative in retaliation. Maybe if people were not scared of leaving a negative, ebay will be a bit safer to use. Of coure, ebay should be pulling their own finger out and ban people who have an unpaid strike from leaving feedback.
