    I have got a question , if u buy an extra piece of ram , (i've got 512 ram) now, does it have to be the same brand of the motherbord?

    Not a precise answer for you but they have a memory configurator that will tell you what memory is suitable for your computer.

    The short answer is: NO.
    I can't think of any mobo manufacturers with a sideline in making RAM. What you need is the correct type (SD/DDR/DDR2), and the same speed as your current RAM (eg, for most AMD processors it's PC3200 DDR, and most new Intel's need either PC3200 DDR OR PC4200 DDR2)
    Use MemTest to see what you have.
