Play.com Problemo

More than a week ago I ordered 4 dvds from Play. Got an email the next day saying there was a prob processing credit card. This couldn't be right cuz the same day I ordered stuff from amazon with the same card and details and there was no problem. I redid the details to make sure. Since then it has just said on the status page that it is "processing". It also says that I can't cancel the order at this stage...

This is fairly shiite since it didn't arrive in time for Christmas (amazon arrived well in time) and I'm not really sure what to do... Is there any way I can cancel and re-order? Should I write a pissed off letter?

you're complaining that it's taken a while to process something christmas week? And now you want to cancel the order and then RE order it... WTF?

Just send them an email, you'll probably get a reply within 24 hours stating what the problem is, if there is a problem.

This happened to me the first time I ordered from Play. A message appeared telling me to enter my details again or contact customer care...so i rang customer care, a lady took my details and the order went through. I can get you the number if you want

Is it real expensive? Would I not just be better off emailing?

It was just a quick call (maybe a minute) from the house phone :) on a saturday so i don't know how much it cost.I think it was better that e-mailing because i got an instant response and the problem was solved.

I made numerous (subtle) changes to my address etc. and they kept contacting me saying the credit card had been rejected and that I should correct my details or call them...so I did

I think I'll just ring and get them to sort it...

    It's happened to me too.
The old credit card expired but the new card is a whole new card with a different number so the account has been flagged and the orders are on hold. Just ring them, that's what I did years ago to first verify the account, I just haven't had time to do it recently.

Be sure to ring your credit card company as well and confirm what details they have down for you.

My credit card company had my address slightly wrong for over a year.

But sure it worked fine on amazon...

    Play.Com's customer services no is 0044 845 8001020.

Usually are very helpful. Far more effective than emailing them.

It's possible that your credit card provider has blocked the transaction as a 'suspicious transaction'. They do that randomly for security purposes. It happened to me before, I just rang them to verify it was ok, then rang Play and they put it through again.
