Burn the files to cd. Do the pc's have network cards in them?

No No without useing any cables or anything. The computers both use the same internet isnt there a way to send through that?

Well, if you're using a router to share your broadband connection it's straightforward. Follow the network wizard on both computers (provided they're both XP computers), make sure they have the same workgroup name and then plonk the **** you want to share between the two in a shared folder.

how are you conecting to the internet? do you have a router with more than one ethernet connection?

this would be the easiest way, but both pc need network cards.

other than that CD/DVD burning would be the only feasible option unless the file is less than a meg or something where you could upload it on yousendit.com and then download it on the other pc.

Im not to sure if this is what your looking for.. but here is how I do it at home:

Iv a wireless network setup, both computers have Network Cards. Iv set up the PCs not to share all files, but only to share files and folders I ask it to (for security reasons). So, if I set a folder on one PC to be shared, I just go to my other PC, Network Neighbourhood, get the folder and copy over the contents to my PC if need be.

I have connected PCs before and transfered music and other files wireless and with wires, but I found it to be slow enough!

When I bought a new computer (4 years ago :P ) my old one was in bits, the floppy didn't work, there were no network facilities, no cd burner, tried direct connections betwen serial/paralell ports that didnt work.

There was some critical stuff I needed which I sent to my e-mail account from my old machine to the new one, of course being on dial up that wasn't very efficient so that was only for a very small amount of the stuff.

Finally, I had to lift the hard drive out of the old computer, add it to the new one, and copy the stuff across.

    Messy but it worked.
