Does anyone find it strange that the O'Flaherty Brothers of Wexford having been found by the High Court that Waterford Port Company was within it's legal right to sell the North Wharf for redevelopment are now pursuing the matter to the Supreme Court to try and stop the sale.

I was reading the News & Star yesterday and on the back it has a list of tax defaulters whom the Revenue went after, and listed is the same O'Flaherty Brothers of Wexford owing over €1.3m

If they want to offload fish let them go to Dunmore or Killmore Quay )where they are from) these are the designated fishing ports... they should not be allowed to stop development from taking place right in the heart of the City for Fishing purposes.... FFS!!!

This case should be struck out as quickly as possible and the O'Flaherty Brothers made to pay all the Costs associated with this stupid case.

Totally agree. I was disgusted when I saw this in the papers! When are they after anyway? What is in it for them?

Either their Sensei is Brendan McCann or there is something in it for them. And tax defaulters too, the bastards. It would make your blood boil to have a couple of stupid farmers -- who aren't even from Waterford -- trying to hold back the city's development!

Why would any developer buy land when they have to put up with this sort of ****? And least in Waterford anyway!

Yeah, that's right. They're not from Waterford so they've no right to be there. What about all the tax defaulters who were littered around Waterford in recent published lists? Have Waterford people insisted on seeing tax clearance certificates before they buy their carpets or their processed meats?

This is a thread about a major civic project being jeopardised by tax defaulters from outside the county. The fact that they are tax defaulters removes any moral high ground they might think they have. The fact that they are from outside the area indicates that their motives are pure greed. I hope they forfeit a huge chunk of change when this is eventually thrown out of court!

If you want to start a separate thread about Waterford tax defaulters, then go right ahead.
