That backline would tear any team apart, and the pack has enough grunt and ball carryign ability. Only problem is the lack of brains in the pack, a Foley type, but its 2 years away - hopefully Heaslip steps up! Leaders a plenty also in POC, BOD, and with time Heaslip, Leamy, Flannery.

Murphy at 10! I was actually think Kearney at 10 meself initially with D'Arcy on the wing and Trimbell at 13 (it's 2 years away remember)....

Yep - he has been played there before for Ireland (v Samoa I think), has often been picked as cover (as 3rd choice) for 10 in Ireland squads for years, and stands at first receiver for a lot of plays if you watch recent games. Has a good boot, good pass, and would offer a running threat from 10, somethign we dont have. Dont like him as an int fullback, defensively frail, but wouldnt be as big a deal at flyhalf. NEVER gonna happen (especially as he doesnt play there for Leicester) but it's my team, and its what I'd like to see.

As for Kearney at 10, whats your thinking on that? Has he ever played there before? I see him as a fullback myself (and in my 15 the back three is interchangeable), but as a flyhalf?! Agree on Trimble at 13 and D'Arcy in the back three

remember this is a futuristic team! he seems to have a good boot, the thought occured to me once while i was watching the bourgoin game (i know i'm only talking rubbish, maybe i'm just hoping there's another quality outhalf out there)

Hes got too much speed and is too good an attacker to have at 10.

Leicester tried Murphy at 10 when he first signed, didn't work. Prior to RWC2003 EOS revisted the option but Murphy broke his leg and the experiment died. He is not the future at outhalf, think Kearney will remove both Murphy and Dempsey from the Irish team, provided Trimble and Bowe continue to improve.
