    Hi,

I was wondering is it possible to cancel Sky by email?
If so, which email address is the best to use?
    So far I’ve found - skydigital@sky.com
    - viewerr@bskyb.com
Are these the correct ones to use or is there a specific email address for cancellations?

    Thanks

No, I don't think email will work. You'll have to ring them, or maybe a written letter would work. But phoning them is the handiest (though you do have to get through the "special offers" they may offer you to make you stay on)

What are these special offers? :)

Oh stuff like a new Sky box or a free Sky+ or x months half price. Puppy dog routines.

Friend of mine rang complaining Sky box was faulty and they supplied a replacement and a Sky+ "free".

He is now paying for a Mirror Sub and also a higher package than he was. They made their money back.

Make sure and report back what they say, and any offers they give you! :)

They offered me Sky World at half price for 3 months.

Wise decision to tell ruperts lot to go hang.

I sent a registered letter to subscriptions dept quoting account/card number a month before, and job was done promptly.

This avoide any whining of the phone and "you will have to talk to a subscriptions manager" or whatever manufactured title they have... ie time wasters.
Happy FTA viewing. BBC ITV , and the rest.

There are loads of places that would not even accept a written cancelation. They would simply ring you up and then proceed to spin the speil as normal.

I cancelled by email over a year ago and had no probs with the cancellation. Cant remember which email address I sent it to but they replied accordingly.

Probably slightly off topic here but I read an article in the paper a few months back quoting a statement from IBEC or some of the employers union stating that something like 75% of employees were not aware that the content of an email that was sent to a customer/client had the same legal status as a standard letter

"There are loads of places that would not even accept a written cancelation. They would simply ring you up and then proceed to spin the speil as normal."
    Thats not entirely correct.

A registered letter simply cannot be ignored. We use them here to deal with difficult suppliers/customers as its admissible in court provided its addressed to the relavent person as it has recorded delivery status.

Sky replied to me within a week with the grovelling "rupertspeak" to which I ignored, since I firmly requested a written confirmation they would cancel my account and they acknowledged this.
