    Hi there,

Im sure you guys have discussed this before but I wanted to just share my experience in the past couple of days.

So I got sky + in and when the engineer came to my house I asked him about channel four. He said he knew the frequency and would tune it in for me for 30 euro so i said ok. He told me on sky the channel is actually called G54 so He put in the following settings in to add channels

    10906
    v 5/2
    22

and it tuned in the station but no picture, he said that he has seen on some boxes that it wont work but he said check it later it might kick in and he left without charging me. So far it hasnt worked but why dont you guys with sky try it and post your results here and let us know if it worked for you.

this then sparked me to searching g54 on google and i found another frequency to tune in and this time it tuned in 5 channel fours. when i go in to each channel it actually tells me whats on but no picture. Here is that code and this is the website i got it from -> http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/skyuk.html

    12168
    V 2/3
    22

So have any of you guys tried any of this or had a similar experience?

    Happy Christmas

basically you need an FTV card, and if you paid him an extra 30 euro to tune in G54, he scammed you

tried it, although maybe you've a different system to me but there is no

    5/2 option under FEC lol.

got G54 alright, but it was just a black screen with
T*R and a timecode along the bottom.

would have been good though, if it had of worked.

that begs the question mind you, was the engineer local or sent from Sky :p

    I didnt pay him anything.

the engineer was a sky engineer and that setting is 2/5 my appologies.

    whats an ftv card?

G54 is an ITV test channel, not Channel 4 :D

a FTV card will get you Channel 4 and Channel 5

also put all the BBC's, ITV 1, 2, 3, 4 on the EPG. they can be gotten in the UK for £20 or on ebay

    10906
    v 5/6
    22

utv & itv are available on this frequency and they seems to be available without the need to buy any add ons. I was pleasantly surprised to learn this.

ok guys this is for allpotential sky subscribers
a while back my friend got sky installed
as she was in work all installation was done with out my influence
when she came homne there was a letter on the table saying ( now this is the important bit)
if RTE is not accessable please ring the following number as it sometimes does not come on automatically
i coped this and quickly but in the channel 4, 5 codes etc an what do you know it worked
downside we cant watch rte even though its on the EPG
bottom line it thinks its an irish box but really its in limbo
since replaced the box and it still is displaying every thing and she cancelled her subscription and it still works
    everything free
