set up a paypal a/c with credit card, how to pay?

Some months ago I set up a paypal account and verified it. I simply wanted to buy stuff on ebay. I found the HELP and FAQ to be a bit confused, and didn't answer a fundametnal question: how to pay an ebay seller via the credit card associated with the account?

Does the credit card have to send funds to the paypal account, and from there you pay the seller? Or does paypal directly charge the credit card associated with the account even if the paypal a/c has zero funds?

The expanded use model/system/mode or whatever they call it (another unclear part) seems to be for receiving payments and seems overkill for merely paying an ebay seller.

It's because of this confsion that I've never bothered using paypal, which is surprising as I would have thought a bunch of other people would feel the same way.

Can anybody provide any insight on this? Cheers.

It charges your credit card that you setup! You pay the credit card per norm then.

As Tommy Cooper might say: Just like that? Didn't think it would be that easy. Well I'm off to test it on some unsuspecting seller then. Hope it comes off.
Thanks for the answer, much appreciated.

Yeah its pretty simple. The only thing is when you have some credit in your a/c, it doesnt show (in details) how much you paid from your credit card and how much from pp a/c. A bit annoying really.
